This policy describes how we handle personal data when you use My GutIQ products and services. For the full in-app experience, additional controls may apply.

Who we are

My GutIQ provides food sensitivity and digestive health support tools. My GutIQ is responsible for deciding how personal data is processed for the app and website. For privacy requests or questions, contact privacy@gutiq.app.

Data we collect

We may collect account data, profile details, food scans and images, barcode or dish questions, meal logs, symptom logs, condition or sensitivity information, gut scores, trigger patterns, subscription status, support messages, device and app diagnostics, security logs, and technical information needed to operate My GutIQ.

Sensitive health data

Food, symptom, condition, sensitivity, scan, and profile data may reveal health information. We treat this as sensitive health-related data and process it to provide My GutIQ only with your explicit consent where required by law. You may withdraw health-data consent in Profile > Privacy settings. Withdrawal stops future health-data processing for core features and scans, but it does not affect processing that already happened while consent was valid.

How we use your data

We use your data to provide food scan results, personalized insights tied to your profile, account history, subscription features, account deletion and export tools, security, troubleshooting, and core service operations. We do not sell personal data. We do not share health data with advertisers, data brokers, or targeted advertising networks.

AI food scan processing

When you ask My GutIQ to analyse a food photo, label, barcode result, or restaurant dish, we send the scan input and relevant profile context to AI model infrastructure so the scan can be processed. We currently use OpenRouter and the selected model provider for this purpose. Do not include names or information about other people in scans or free-text questions.

Service providers

We use service providers that help us operate My GutIQ, including Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and Edge Functions; OpenRouter and model providers for food scan analysis; RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play for subscriptions; Resend for transactional email; Sentry for crash and diagnostic reporting; Google OAuth if you choose Google sign-in; Cloudflare for website delivery; Google Analytics for optional web analytics; and PostHog for optional product analytics. These providers process data for My GutIQ under contractual or platform safeguards.

Cookies and similar technologies (web)

When you use My GutIQ in a web browser or visit our marketing site, we may store cookies or similar local storage where needed to run the service, keep sessions secure, remember choices, route traffic, and protect the site. Optional analytics cookies or storage are used only if you accept them through the cookie banner, website cookie settings, or in-app Privacy settings where applicable. Rejecting optional analytics does not affect your ability to use My GutIQ with your normal account consents. More detail is available in our Cookie Policy.

Optional analytics and measurement

On the My GutIQ web application and marketing website, we may use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP (which Google may shorten), device/browser type, and referral information. In the mobile app, we may use PostHog to understand app screens and product interactions. We configure analytics conservatively: we do not send health data, scan images, symptom logs, or free-text health notes to these tools. Analytics runs only after you opt in through the cookie banner, website cookie settings, or in-app Privacy settings. Legal basis where required is consent. For transfers outside the UK/EEA, providers may use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. See each provider’s documentation for retention and subprocessors.

Research and product improvement

My GutIQ does not use your health data for research, model training, or anonymized product improvement unless you explicitly opt in.

Retention

We keep account and health-related data while your account is active or as needed to provide My GutIQ. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify account data and health data unless limited retention is needed for legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, app-store, or compliance reasons. Consent records, deletion audit records, security logs, and billing records may be retained as needed to prove compliance, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the service.

Children

My GutIQ is intended for adults. Do not create an account or submit personal data if you are under 18. If we learn that a minor has provided personal data without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Your rights

Depending on your location, including the United States, the EU/UK, India, and other regions, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; appeal or complain; and nominate a representative where applicable. You can export or delete account data in the app, change analytics and health-data consent in Profile > Privacy settings, or contact privacy@gutiq.app for help.

International transfers

My GutIQ and its providers may process data in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer safeguards, platform terms, contractual commitments, or other lawful mechanisms.
